Meet Lynnae!

The Heart Behind The Golden Hour

My name is Lynnae, and I am the doula and lactation consultant behind The Golden Hour Doula & Lactation. I support families through pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, and feeding so they can feel more calm, informed, and cared for.

I am also a wife to an assistant pastor, a mom of two fun boys, and a former middle and high school math teacher. My path into birth work grew from my own experiences with pregnancy, loss, birth, breastfeeding, and the need for steady support during such a life changing season.

From Teaching to Birth Support

Before becoming a doula, I earned my degree in math education and spent 8 years teaching middle and high school math. Teaching has always been a big part of who I am, and that same heart carries into my work with families.

I love helping people understand things that may feel confusing or overwhelming at first. Whether I am talking through labor options, explaining what your body is doing, or offering feeding support, my goal is to help things feel clearer, calmer, and more doable.

After my first son was born, my interest in the birth world started to grow. After my second son, I began looking more seriously into becoming a doula. The more I learned, the more I knew this was something I wanted to do.

My Pregnancy and Loss Journey

Between my two boys, I experienced two miscarriages. One was a second trimester loss, and one was a very early loss.

Walking through pregnancy loss taught me a lot about the female body, grief, hope, and the emotional side of pregnancy. It also deepened my desire to support women with compassion, patience, and care.

Pregnancy can hold so many emotions at once. Because of my own story, I never want someone to feel like they have to walk through those emotions alone.

My Birth and Doula Experience

My desire is to support and guide women through pregnancy, labor, and delivery as they bring their little one into the world.

I had the wonderful opportunity to be at my nephew’s birth in February 2025, and that experience confirmed even more how much I wanted to support families during labor and delivery. I officially trained to become a doula through Allo Doula Academy in July 2025.

Birth does not always go exactly as planned, but you still deserve to feel supported, informed, and cared for through each decision.

My Breastfeeding Journey

I had the opportunity to breastfeed my sons for 12 months and 13 months. Both journeys came with challenges.

With my first son, breastfeeding was hard in the beginning, and it took about 2 months before things felt like they were falling into place. With my second son, latching came a little easier at first, but we still had our own challenges and needed time to figure it out.

Those experiences are a big part of why I care so much about lactation support. Breastfeeding can be beautiful, but it can also be hard, emotional, and frustrating. I want to help you feel encouraged, supported, and less alone as you work toward your feeding goals.

Why I Support Families

My goal is not to pressure you into one specific kind of birth or one specific way of feeding your baby. My goal is to help you understand your options, feel confident in your decisions, and know that you have someone in your corner.

Whether you are preparing for birth, working through feeding challenges, or simply trying to figure out what kind of support you need, I would be honored to walk with you.
